The Power of the Beloit College Network
Danielle Strejc graduated in May 2020 – the year that COVID-19 devastated job market prospects for many college graduates. Danielle majored in Quantitative Economics and was a member of the women’s basketball team. She had been considering graduate school, so she took the opportunity to get a one-year Master of Science in Business Analytics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Danielle explains, “The goal of the coursework was to get an idea of how data science can be applied to a business setting. I learned how to use data in a variety of formats to help companies become more data driven and informed.”
When she was applying for jobs, however, she returned to the Beloit College network. She reached out to Tim Smith (’91), partner at Deloitte Consulting. Danielle had met Tim through the Beloiters Helping Beloiters program, which is designed to provide graduating seniors with alumni mentors and contacts in their field of interest. Tim referred Danielle for a position, and she starts in July 2021 as a Risk and Financial Advisory Analyst in their Chicago office.
No matter where you go, the Beloit College network is a powerful tool to find an opportunity!
