Beloit Businesses and Opportunities
On Feb. 26 the Business and Enterpriship Channel held a session on Beloit businesses and opportunities. This session started with a little background information about the City of Beloit, and a little history about the Great Migration in Beloit presented by Assistant Professor Laura Grube, one of the five mentors of the Business and Entrepreneurship Channel.
Following Professor Grube’s presentation, Ben Jensen 21’ talked about the 10-Mile City Report, which is a Market Profile Report contracted by the Greater Beloit Economic Development Committee. Jensen got involved with the 10-Mile City Report through Belmark Associates, which is a student operated market research firm. Jensen concluded with saying it was a great opportunity to work in a professional environment, while working on real world projects.
To conclude the session on Beloit Business and Opportunities, Alumnus Gjergj Ndoci 20’ talked about some of the internships he was able to obtain which eventually led him to his current job with Hendricks Holding. Ndoci gives a lot of thanks to the Duffy Partnership, which is how he got an internship with ABC Supply. Following that Ndoci was able to get another internship with Blackhawk Transportation his junior year. The internships and the relationships he made within them ultimately led to his current job with Hendricks Holding.
