Professor of Religious Studies Debra Majeed received the 2016-17 James R. Underkofler Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award at a faculty and staff recognition party in March.

Underkofler Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award.Majeed was nominated by students for the Underkofler, which is sponsored by Alliant Energy and the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. Students praised Majeed for her “energy, accessibility, and deep knowledge of her field.” They described her as a well-prepared and thoughtful teacher of complex and sensitive issues and recognized her for her commitment to developing personal relationships with them.
