An Experience in the Consulting Field
Caleb Nghe ’20, an economics major from Colorado, spent his summer interning at Grenzebach Glier and Associates (GG+A), in Chicago. What made the internship interesting was that all the work he did could contribute to change or improvement within the firm. “We have a couple of standing projects that we have to complete over the course of the internship. In addition to this we have to be active and look for other work while also managing what is assigned to us.”
To Caleb, working with a cohort of interns and in a small office environment where everyone was open and ready to help was the thing that he enjoyed the most throughout the internship at GG+A. Also, the office was in the heart of Chicago so getting places on lunch break or after work was always easy.
He heard about the opportunity through networking, and he highly recommends that students seeking internships leverage the alumni network Beloit has. It is important to start looking early and contacting people within your extended network to ensure your best chance at as many options as possible. Additionally, don’t be afraid to do informational interviews - they are a good way to make connections.
