Beryl Sybil Naa Kai Odonkor

Beryl Odonkor Accra, Ghana
Major: Business Economics

“This is a picture from my last Econ Day in Chicago, IL. It was the end of the day after I had engaged in intentional and meaningful conversations with Beloit College alum, learned about career fields in data analytics, and had a chance to enjoy the city at night. Econ Day has been one of the highlights of my time with the Economics Department because it has given me a chance to ask questions and learn from those who went before me.”

Simone Rawal

Simone Rawal Dillibazar, Napal
Major: Environmental Geology
Minor: Computer Science

“Going out onto the field and learning through experiences has always been very important to me. Beloit provided me an opportunity to study abroad at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. There I took a field mapping course where I got to explore the Glens of Tekoa area of Hurunui. During this 6-day field trip, I not only learned how to collect and interpret field data to produce a geologic map, cross-section, and a written report of the area but, I also learned how to wade rivers, climb mountains, and shear sheep, which was truly memorable.”

Kaveri Sarkar

Kaveri Sarkar New Delhi, India
Majors: Psychology and International Relations

“I am glad to have taken full advantage of Beloit College symposia in my senior year. The leftmost picture is from my International Symposium presentation (November 2019). I shared some fond memories and key insights that I gained from a semester abroad at the University of St Andrews, Scotland as well as discussed the neocolonialist underpinnings of study abroad as an institution. The two pictures on the right are from my two (virtual) Student Symposium presentations in April 2020. They were based on my two senior theses—one in Psychology and the other one in International Relations.”

Jayd Alicia Sepulveda

Jayd Sepulveda Oak Park, Illinois

“This picture was taken on my first day in Costa Rica with the other members of my program. I grew tremendously during my semester abroad and I can only thank Beloit College for the wonderful opportunity I was afforded to have this experience. The past four years flew by and the memories I’ve made will be cherished forever. Thank you Beloit College!”

Junfu Su

Chongqing, China
Majors: Economics and Mathematics

Anthony Paul Wendel

Appleton, Wisconsin
Majors: Geology and Physics
Minor: Computer Science

Attending college has been like slowly piecing together an infinite puzzle. Every tidbit of new information leads you to two more. My favorite occurrences were when a new concept from one class popped up unexpectedly in a completely unrelated class the next week, and suddenly it all made more sense.”
