34th Annual ECON Day: A Playground for the Professionals

The annual event for Economics students to meet and talk with the alumnus - ECON Day 2020 marked another successful journey of the Economics department.

ECON day is an annual event that provides the opportunity for current students to have one-on-one discussions with the alumnus to ask for advice, information and direction on future careers. This year, the entire trip was divided into three main sections, designed especially to get students informed of the work of entrepreneurs and also with the career of Data Analytics.

The first section was held in Make City, a business incubator on the Nearwest side of Chicago, where students could meet and hear young entrepreneurs present their ideas, routines and products. Those who are interested would have the chance to ask questions related to their works to get themselves ready for future projects. After the tour in Make City, the bus continued to head towards University of Chicago - Keller Center, where two Alumni Panels and Informal Networking sections took place. Students who are in need to widen their network or would like to ask for advice from the expects are provided with internal opportunities to achieve their goals during these two sections.

While getting prepared for future careers may be stressful, students participating in the trip all agreed that they found themselves enjoying the professional environment offered throughout ECON day as a playground of experts.
