Early Career Report: Will Tomer’17, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Will Tomer works for his hometown newspaper, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He joined the paper as its digital opinion editor and was promoted to op-ed editor in August. Will curates, edits, and designs the paper’s opinion pages. He is a member of the staff that was awarded the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting.
While at Beloit, Will served for two years as editor-in-chief of the college’s student newspaper, the Round Table. He also served on the executive board of the college radio station and worked several on-campus jobs. He graduated with a major in history and minored in both journalism and political science. He also met his fiancée, Emma Sheehan’18 (pictured), during his time at Beloit.
