“Message from the HWC about Vaccines” letter sent to Beloit students
There are a couple exciting developments regarding vaccinations for the general student population.
Please read through the following information carefully.
1. As stated in the Task Force Newsletter this past week:
Beginning Monday 3/22/21 (TOMORROW!), Individuals age 16 and older with certain medical conditions that increase the risk of severe COVID-19 infection will be eligible for the vaccine. Underlying conditions include such things as asthma, cancer, chronic kidney disease, obesity, and a weakened immune system.
If you qualify by having one of the above conditions, you can get vaccinated by your doctor or health care provider, pharmacies, community-based vaccination clinics. such as Blackhawk Technical College, or your local health department (we are in Rock County.) If you have questions about your eligibility or about the vaccine in general, please direct them to Tara Girard, Health and Wellness Center Director at firstname.lastname@example.org.
2. I am hearing from many students that, as front facing student workers (who have high contact with other students, faculty or staff), they have been able to get vaccinated at various local pharmacies.
Reach out to your fellow student workers if you feel you are in this category. If you are one of the lucky to receive a vaccine, share your pathways with your peers!
3. Throughout the vaccine rollout, Beloit Health System has been a tremendous partner in providing vaccines.
They are continuing their good work and offering registration for Beloit College students to sign up for “no waste” vaccines. These are vaccine doses that have been opened and must be used that day. Beloit Health System has a perfect track record of administering well over 13,000 shots with zero wasted doses! They want to continue this success and are offering a spot on the “no waste list” to Beloit College students.
The expectation is that you could arrive quickly, once notified, to receive a vaccination.
If you are interested in being on the “no waste” waiting list, please complete this form. Beloit Health System will call you directly if you are next in line. This will be on a first come, first serve basis.
The form will close on March 31, 2021. Please submit your information before that date if you desire to be on the “no waste” list.
If you have questions about the above items or anything vaccine related, please email me at email@example.com.
