Beloit College is offering up to two tuition-free semesters for students who enrolled in the 2020-21 academic year, recognizing that the COVID pandemic upended this year.
These two semesters will allow students to experience more of a Beloit education’s many dimensions, which go far beyond the classroom. This additional flexibility will allow students to access these opportunities while also devoting additional time to preparing for their lives after Beloit.
To be eligible, students must:
Have been enrolled full-time during the entire 2020-21 academic year,
Have completed eight full-time semesters (eligibility for transfer students will be determined individually),
Agree to
Enroll in at least three units during each tuition-free semester,
The tuition-free semester or year must start during the academic year immediately following the student’s eighth semester.
Participants will be responsible for room, board, and fees, less any applicable federal aid. Eligibility for federal financial aid is limited to students who have not completed their academic program and will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

You would be eligible if you paid tuition for eight semesters. If you received a tuition refund for one of your eight semesters, you will not be eligible for this program.
No. Honors terms are considered post-grad experiences and do not count as the required full-time student enrollment for the 2020-21 academic year. Honors terms also do not count towards the eight full-time semesters required for this program.
Courses & Transcripts
Yes, grades for all courses taken during tuition-free semesters will appear on your transcript.
If you have not graduated, taking courses during the tuition-free semesters count in the same way as courses taken in other semesters. These courses can be used to complete majors and/or minors and/or meet other graduation requirements.
Your courses and grades will appear on your transcript and be factored into your GPA.
No, if you have graduated you cannot add another major or minor.
No, if you have graduated your GPA for your Bachelor’s degree will not change, but the grades you earn during the tuition-free semester(s) will appear on your Beloit transcript.

No, you cannot participate in a remote internship during this program.
You will receive aid equal to the amount of full-tuition for the semester, but you will be responsible for paying for room, board, health and wellness fee, and student activities fee. You will not be eligible for federal financial aid for these expenses.

You should consult with your coach and the athletics director to determine your eligibility to participate in your sport. You may only participate with your team during an enrolled semester, so spring athletes may not participate with their team during the fall semester unless they are enrolled as full-time students.
