“Honored to be your president” letter to the Beloit community
Dear Beloiters,
It’s been about 60 days since I was named Beloit College’s 12th president. Since then, I have been eagerly preparing for this day. My wife, Julie, and I are getting ready to move to campus, and the only three Boyntons still living at home — our dogs Jolene, Talulah, and Vivi — are excited for all the new sights and smells that await them. (From what I’ve been told, there’s a wide array of dog-lovers just waiting to meet them.)
I am honored by the generous well wishes from every corner of the Beloit College community, on campus and off.
The headwinds facing colleges like Beloit have been gaining strength over the past several years and continue to intensify. Yet, as I take the reins of the college, I am more convinced than ever that we will succeed because of our community’s collective strength and determination.
We are Beloiters.
I have seen the resilience and kindness of our staff and faculty — and their unwavering dedication to our students’ bright futures, ensuring they are transformed by their experiences in and outside the classroom. Our alumni care deeply about this institution and want to see it thrive. And partnerships within the city of Beloit and the region will help us leverage our mutual strengths.
I am honored to be your president. Our time is now.
With gratitude,
Eric Boynton
