Creating designs, writing papers, protecting from viruses, registering for classes, and almost everything else requires access to Beloit College software.
Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) is a suite of desktop applications for Windows and macOS offered by Adobe Systems. The Adobe applications include software for graphic design, desktop publishing, video and audio production, web development, photography and more. Popular applications include Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, InDesign, Premiere, and Acrobat Pro.
Adobe Creative Cloud applications are installed on the Apporto virtual desktop service and is available to students enrolled in courses that require access to the software.
Adobe Spark is a multimedia editing and creation tool that is available for all campus users via campus site license.
Beloit College requires that any computers connecting to the campus network have antivirus software with up-to-date virus definitions installed. You are welcome to use any antivirus software that you prefer, as long as it is updated regularly. Beloit College offers Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) to any currently enrolled students.

Apporto is a cloud-based virtual desktop service that allows students to access a remote Windows desktop from any device with a web browser. Instructors can also have the ability to view and control students’ screens; new software can be added within 48 hours, and external shared drives such as Google Drive can be connected to the remote desktop.

LITS maintains an ever-expanding online Knowledge Base of technology documentation and a Support Center where you can get more help for all of your campus technology questions. Using these two resources, campus users can find a wealth of documentation about computers, mobile devices, software, account, audio-visual equipment, printing, classroom technologies, and much more.
New documentation is developed and added on a regular basis. If the information you seek is not captured in our Knowledge Base or the Support Center, be sure to let us know.
Beloit College uses the Google G Suite for email, calendaring, productivity, and collaboration. To login to G Suite, simply use the same username and password you use for other Beloit College networked resources, such as; the Portal, Moodle, and printing.
Faculty, staff, and student account creations are triggered automatically through the hiring or enrollment process. Alumni G Suite accounts are not automatically created but are available upon request through the Development Office.

Beloit College uses an Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) software called Jenzabar. Jenzabar modules support a number of administrative offices and processes, including; payroll, employee management, registration and enrollment, general ledger, budgeting, payroll, and advising.
The Portal, a web-based interface to Jenzabar, offers everyone on campus a single point of access to role-specific content.

Microsoft Office is a suite of office productivity applications for Windows and macOS. The Office applications include software for note-taking, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, email, communication, and more. Popular applications include Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and OneNote. Microsoft does not develop all applications for both operating systems.
Beloit College has a site license for the Microsoft Office Suite of applications that allows any of the software to be installed on College-owned computers. The basic suite is installed on computers in campus classrooms, computer labs, public computing spaces, and faculty and staff computers. Faculty, staff, student, and alumni personal computers are not covered under the site license.

Office 365 is a suite of cloud-based productivity and collaboration applications developed by Microsoft. The Office 365 applications are accessed through a web browser and include software for note-taking, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and more. Popular cloud applications include Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and OneNote.
Beloit College has a site license that allows current faculty, staff, and students to utilize both the online and download versions of Office 365 on their College-owned or personally-owned computers or mobile devices.
Moodle is the open-source online learning management system (LMS) used by Beloit College. Moodle is used for posting syllabi, course readings, class forums, assessments, grading, creating online activities for students, and much more.
