Milwaukee, Fall 2017

Supported by the Class of 2015 Career Development Fund, students enjoyed this two-day trip free of cost. The trip included home stays with alumni in Milwaukee and visits to:

Health in Practice

Madison and Milwaukee, Fall 2016

Health in Practice focused on the variety of workplaces where alumni contribute to the healthcare industry. Supported by the Class of 2015 Career Development Fund, this completely free trip was an excellent opportunity for students to learn more about careers and professional behaviors for the healthcare field. The trip included the following events:

  • Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee site visit, hosted by Dawn Faucett '96 and Mary Nelson
  • Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin in Milwaukee site visit, hosted by Molly Lancelot '99
  • Epic site visit in Madison
  • Alumni networking event at Wisconsin Science Museum, including a panel of young alumni working in research. Panelists include Marissa Berrier '12, Diana Gutierrez Meza '13, and Sara DeLong '15.

Public Service in Practice

Public Service in Practice focused on the myriad ways that Beloiters practice public service in a variety of organizations. From museum professionals to legislators, students learned about the skills and knowledge relevant to a career in public service. The trip included the following events:

Madison, Fall 2014

How do Beloiters practice business? For this fall trip, students learned about the professional and academic trajectories of alumni who work in the for-profit world. The trip focused on comparing two different large Wisconsin corporation and included connections with alumni who work in a variety of fields. The trip included:

  • Epic site visit with alumni panel, with Nathaniel Beale '07, Tom Hogle '10, Anna Rusk '08, Rick Cotter '13, Erik Phelps '92, Bill Dunn '91, Stephanie Williams '01, and Brian Whitney '03
  • UW-Madison's Wisconsin School of Business information session
