Career Development

The staff in the Career and Community Engagement Center serve as a resource for students and alumni in their career exploration and career development.

The Career and Community Engagement Center also works to connect students with Employers and can help coordinate on-campus information tables, interviews, and information sessions.

  • Career Exploration
Beloit offers a number of opportunities to engage in career exploration, including individualized consulting meetings, interest and personality assessments, and workplace site visits throughout the academic year. We offer an In Practice Trip over fall break for a group of students to explore a field of interest. The college also promotes networking opportunities for students to connect with Beloit alumni on and off campus.
  • Job & Internship Search
Career Peer Advisors also help students search for jobs and internships, domestically and abroad. Typically, internship searches are best started in the late fall, with applications due in January and February. Post-Beloit searches should begin with networking and self-reflection in the late fall, followed by applications starting in February.
  • Applying for Opportunities
Career Peer Advisors help students development their professional portfolio, which includes their resume, cover letter, and more! For students applying to graduate school, Jessica Fox Wilson or Emily Sager will review your professional portfolio. When you are working to get a job, it is a good opportunity to learn about interviewing and schedule a time for a mock interview with professional staff.
  • In the Workplace
If you are trying to prepare for the year ahead, or entering a new field, here are some things to think about related to professional attire and social identities in the workplace.
  • Next Steps After Beloit
In addition to professional work, Beloit College graduates pursue many different types of opportunities after college. Learn more about the experiences Beloit students seek after college.
  • Plan for the Summer
Based on your class year, there are different internships, research opportunities, and grant funding available to you. Learn about these opportunities early so you don't miss out!
  • Employers
If you are looking to connect with Beloit students there are a number of ways to connect.  Get in touch with professional staff to learn more.
