To be a successful candidate for a health professions program and practicioner in your chosen field, you should periodically perform a self-assessment to help you discern your strengths and weaknesses. This guide from Butler University will help you.
The AAMC, Khan Academy, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation collaborated on a project to create free educational video tutorials to help students prepare for the revised Medical College Admission Test® (MCAT®) that began being administered in 2015. These are created to help students review and understand basic concepts included in the MCAT.
Lessons are available through Khan Academy's online learning library.
Lessons are also available through AAMC’s MedEdPORTAL® iCollaborative.
More Information from Public Health Online
This organization is chartered with providing community resources on public health careers and education. Why are these resources important? In-depth public health career information centralized in one place is difficult to find. This site goes deep into specialty public health careers and provides actionable information through salary tools, career path timelines, and job resources. The group also produced a comprehensive expert-driven guide that explores MPH (Masters in Public Health) options for students and addresses issues such as accreditation, learning formats, affordability and scholarships. As you probably know, obtaining a MPH degree, while not necessary, is viewed by many as an industry standard for those who want to excel in a career in public health.
