Holiday Hours of Operation
December 23 – January 3: The college and our offices will be closed, but limited Advancement Office staff will be working and available to speak to you from from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27 through Friday, December 30. Changes to CARES Act Tax Benefits
- Temporary tax benefits put in place with the CARES Act ended with the 2021 tax year.
- Individual deductions for those who itemize: Individuals can elect to take cash deductions up to 60% of their 2022 adjusted gross income (AGI). Contribution amounts in excess of these deduction limits may be carried over up to five subsequent tax years. The limit for non-cash contributions is 30% of the 2022 AGI. Note: contributions to a donor-advised fund (DAF) do not qualify for this treatment, nor do donations of appreciated stock.
- Individual and joint tax filers who take the standard deduction are not able to claim an itemized write-off for a charitable contribution.

Ways to Give
Stock: If you would like to make a gift of stock or mutual funds, please contact Leslie Beeler at 608-363-2632 or firstname.lastname@example.org. To count for the end of the calendar year, stocks must arrive in Beloit’s brokerage account by December 31. Gifts of mutual funds can take two weeks or more to complete, so please leave plenty of time for processing gifts of mutual funds.
Checks: For checks or money orders sent through the mail the IRS recognizes the postmark as the date the gift was made. Gifts made by check must be postmarked no later than December 31, 2022 to count for the end of the calendar year. Gifts by check or money order may be mailed to:

Credit Cards: The date your account is debited is considered the date of the donation. In order to receive a 2022 charitable income tax deduction, credit card gifts must be processed against your account in 2022. You can make a gift online using your VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express debit/credit card or using Apple Pay, PayPal, or Venmo on or before 11:59 pm (CST), December 31, 2022. To give with Apple Pay or Venmo, please give through the form on a mobile device. PayPal is available on all devices.
