Office and Furniture Moves

Office and furniture moves must be arranged a minimum of two weeks in advance.

Facilities will evaluate the items to be moved to determine if our staff will have the time or ability to safely complete your move request. If we are not able to accommodate your move, we will provide you with an area moving company name for you to contact.

Please keep in mind that when packing boxes to be moved, that if they are too heavy for you to lift and move, they are too heavy for Facilities staff to move and will not be moved. Facilities does not pack or unpack boxes. Items for office moves will be only furniture, boxes and individual computer components.

Our staff will not disconnect or reconnect computer equipment. You will need to contact Information Services and Resources(I.S.R.), extension 2067, to assist you with the disconnect and reconnect of your computer.


Requests for door and desk nameplates should be submitted by work request to be sure the name is legible. If the nameplate is for a desk, please indicate if a holder is needed. Material costs must be approved in advance by the Department Head/Chair. An account number is required when ordering.

Mail Center Packages

Facilities will only deliver packages weighing 50 pounds and over individually or grouped. Packages weighing under 50 pounds are the responsibility of each department.

Painting Requests

Due to limited storage facilities and to eliminate waste of unused paint, color choices are now limited to thirteen (13) colors as chosen and approved by Senior Staff. All campus painting must be completed by Facilities or an approved contractor.

Color samples can be viewed at the Facilities office.

Truck Deliveries

A twenty-four hour notice for Facilities assistance with deliveries is required. If a call is received without prior notice, we can supply you with a dolly if available. Facilities available hours for deliveries (Monday through Friday) are as follows:

  • 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
  • 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
  • 12:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Furniture / Office Equipment Assembly

If you require Facilities's assistance in the assembly of new office furniture, a work request must be submitted. Your request will be scheduled based on availability of personnel.

Beloit College has very limited storage space. Facilities will move unused furniture / equipment but you are responsible for locating a new home for your unwanted furniture / equipment.


We are prohibited by our insurance carrier from providing battery service or lending jumper cables.
