The Duffy Partnerships give the students both a macro and micro understanding of how institutions interact within society. At each site students gain an overview of the culture, goals, structure, resources and strategies available, and then they focus on a specific project within the organization. During the weekly seminar they broaden their focus to examine how the various institutions intersect and interact.
Each student works with a Faculty Partner, in addition to Sociology faculty member and Partnerships Coordinator, Carol Wickersham. This allows students access to interdisciplinary perspectives and expertise. The faculty and community partners also share perspectives about the issues and efforts at each site and the implications for the community.
These links will give you an overview of the Partners since 2005, as well as the focus of students' projects.
