RUSSIAN DANCE COMPANY PERFORMS AT WILSON THEATRE
Beloit, Wis. -
Utilizing the canons of both classical and modern dance, Natali Shirokova's Modern Dance Theatre will give an unforgettable one-night performance on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m., in the Wilson Theatre, in Oscar Mayer Hall, on the Beloit College campus.
The Moscow-based dance company bridges dance with dramatic art. The aesthetics of modern art provide a thematic framework for the lyrical dance pieces. The dancers are well-versed in formal techniques of dance, yet succumb to theatrical concepts of novelty, harmony and discovery, using the audience not only as spectators but as partners.
This performance is part of the 2004-2005 International Performing Art Series, which brings a wide range of artists and performers to the Beloit community.
