Underkofler Award—the James R. Underkofler Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award, endowed by the Wisconsin Power & Light Foundation (now the Alliant Energy Foundation) in honor of a former chairman, recognizes five faculty annually at Wisconsin's independent colleges. This award comes through WAICU no longer WFIC, which was dissolved in 2011.

Upton Forum—an annual event featuring panel discussions and a keynote address by the Upton Scholar.
Upton Programs—a suite of programs that enhance student and faculty engagement in the ideas and institutions that lay at the foundation of free and prosperous societies. Named for Beloit's sixth president and housed within the economics department (managed by the Neese Professor). The Wealth and Well-Being of Nations, an annual forum, residency, and subject of senior seminar projects is the centerpiece. The leading intellectual figure who accepts the residency is known as the Upton Scholar.
Upward Bound—a federally funded college preparatory program for area high school students who come from low-income households and/or will be the first generation from their families to attend college. The word "program" (lower case) is optional. See also TRIO Department.
