Mathers Award in Economics </li><li>Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society </li></ul></a></div><div class="senior-quote"><em><p> “First, Kelly is a superstar academically. Her GPA demonstrates this, but the GPA alone understates her capabilities. Kelly is a “pure” economics major and has taken several challenging math courses. She has excelled in these courses and is a top student in Quantitative Methods.</p><p> Second ,– and perhaps most importantly - Kelly is a self-starter, which I take to mean that she can understand the problem that needs to be solved, develop a strategy for taking it on, revise as necessary, and bring it to the finish line. She has demonstrated this to me in a number of contexts. One example is her efforts to help us input alumni data into a custom software. She has contacted various parties to obtain the data and effectively trouble-shooted through issues as they arose. Another example is her work with the Beloit Snappers team through Belmark. She has managed this relationship and easily navigated conversations about outreach to area schools, increasing social media, and other activities.</p><p> Third, and finally, Kelly is a delight to be around and is a true team player (she is the captain of the basketball team this year). I know the basketball team will miss her dearly. In our department, she has helped lead professional development workshops and been involved in our faculty search.”</p></em><div class="m-3 clearfix"><a href="/commencement/senior-profiles/index.php" class="d-inline-block pull-right"><i class="fa fa-refresh fa-2x"/></a></div></div></div></div>
