I still remember how much he impressed me in the course Economic of Globalization that he took with me in his first year at Beloit. In that course, as a freshman, he already demonstrated a very high level of critical thinking, and an amazing ability to articulate his thoughts through both oral communication and writing. In the economic senior seminar, for his senior thesis, he designed a natural field experiment to study the effect of social identity and political party affiliation on policy opinions. His experimental design was selected by the economics department to be awarded with funding, so he is now implementing the experiment. I wish him the best of luck in implementing the experiment, and in his post-Beloit plan ” - Diep Phan
