She made Dean’s List every semester and was also nominated for and attended the Beloit Leaders Seminar in the fall of 2017. In the spring of 2018, she was awarded the Sonia Moncada Street Endowed Award by the Department of Modern Languages. She demonstrated her leadership in other roles such as a Resident Assistant, moderator for the Sustained Dialogue program, and caption of the Beloit College Women’s Lacrosse Team. Fiona has always been committed to a career in education as a way to help achieve social justice. She volunteered throughout the community such as being mentor for the Girl Scouts of America and the Girls Who Rock program. Fiona finished a successful semester of student teaching last fall in a second grade dual language immersion classroom at Todd Elementary School. Fiona distinguishes herself with her professionalism, organization, passion to help children learn, and her reflective practices. She is well loved both by her students and her colleagues at the schools she has worked previously. She will receive her teaching license after graduation and will be a great educator to any school district which will be lucky to hire her.”
