Free (really!) market held in Pearsons Thursday (video)

December 12, 2013

Tomorrow will mark the annual Really Really Free Market, where the name says it all: everything is free. Really.

Everyone is invited to arrive Thursday (Dec. 12) between 10 a.m. and noon in the D.K.’s Annex with clothing, books, plants, and other items (in good condition) to give and share with others.

There is no buying, selling, or exchanging involved—in this market, everything is strictly free. There are no price tags.

RRFMs have been held worldwide since 2003. Its goal is to promote more sustainable forms of exchange and to help curb consumer waste. Beloit grad Ellery Hamann’12 recently made a video of his own experiences of establishing the very first RRFM in Taiwan:

Any remaining items from the RRFM will be donated to local charities (CARITAS, Goodwill, Salvation Army).
