Second Annual Giving Day a Great Success

The Beloit College community is generous and showed its heart and soul during its second annual Giving Day on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. In just 24 hours, the college raised over $65,000 from more than 450 supporters.

Not only did the gifts far surpass the original goal of $25,000, the event also raised $25,000 more than last year. Beloit is touched by the fantastic response received from supporters and is grateful to be backed by such a strong foundation of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends. These gifts help make ‪#‎BeloitPossible for the next generation of Turtles, Bucs, and Beloiters.

The unconditional support, enthusiastically offered by our alumni, parents, and friends is a tribute to the character of our community, and the value that we all collectively recognize in the mission we seek to advance. Start researching on-campus summer opportunities: CLS, Beloit Blocks

“Summer will be here before we know it, and winter break is the perfect time to begin an application or speak with your parents and classmates to decide if a summer academic opportunity is right for you,” says Dan Perusich, director of summer programs.

Want more details about some summer offerings at the college? Look no further. Below, learn about how to apply for Beloit Blocks and the Center for Language Studies:

Beloit Blocks will take place from May 21-June 11. Blocks courses allow students to earn one unit of credit in just three weeks. In 2014, seven different courses--satisfying an array of requirements--will be available to Beloit students, and financial assistance is available on a limited basis.

The Center for Language Studies will celebrate its 31st summer as part of the Beloit College community in 2014. CLS is an intensive, immersion-style program that brings students and faculty from across the country and around the world to our campus for eight weeks of rigorous study. The eight-week program is broken up into two four-week sessions. Upon completion of the program, students can earn up to 3 units of credit (1.5 units for completing a four-week session).

Courses are available in Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, and ESL; each language has multiple levels, from beginner to advanced.  The AREA Scholarship is available to all incoming and current Beloit students, as well as alumni of the college.
