If you didn’t know it already, you’ll learn it soon: our president (Scott Bierman), provost (Ann Davies) and dean of students (Christina Klawitter’98) are all runners. From the Turtle Trot to the upcoming Olde English classic, these administrators three seem to appreciate an opportunity to take a run with students.
This Thursday (Aug. 22) at 4 p.m., President Bierman, Provost Davies, and Dean Klawitter will continue the tradition with a run for students, faculty, and staff. Walkers are also encouraged to join them. Get out, get some fresh air, see a bit of Beloit, and hit the ground running this semester. Oh…and get a free T-shirt for your trouble!
The run/walk will begin on the steps of Middle College, circle around Eaton Chapel and up College Street toward Commons before looping down the hill and crossing Highway 51 at the stoplight. Beloiters will then go under the bridge, at which point:
- Walkers will loop around the lagoon in Riverside Park before returning to campus (about two miles, total).
- Runners will go up the river to Henry Avenue Bridge and back (three miles or so, all told).
