Important note from ISR: Don't forget to log off!

March 31, 2013

From Chief Information Officer Megan Fitch:

Spring is here!  Thoughts are turning to warm weather, finals, and perhaps even turtles.

As we head into the final push at the end of the semester, just a friendly reminder to log off of email and other tools when you leave public computers, even if you are only leaving for a few minutes.

Additionally, if you come across a computer without a user but with email or other services open, please do the Beloit thing and log the user off.

If you aren't sure whether you logged off from email when you left the library/Pearsons/or another location, log in to your account at and scroll all the way down to the bottom of your open email account screen; in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, click on "details" under "last account activity." You will see a list of recent activity and a button to sign out of all other sessions.

Yours in Safe and Respectful Community Computing,

Megan Fitch, CIO
