Second Annual Giving Day a Great Success

The Beloit College community is generous and showed its heart and soul during its second annual Giving Day on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. In just 24 hours, the college raised over $65,000 from more than 450 supporters.

Not only did the gifts far surpass the original goal of $25,000, the event also raised $25,000 more than last year. Beloit is touched by the fantastic response received from supporters and is grateful to be backed by such a strong foundation of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends. These gifts help make ‪#‎BeloitPossible for the next generation of Turtles, Bucs, and Beloiters.

The unconditional support, enthusiastically offered by our alumni, parents, and friends is a tribute to the character of our community, and the value that we all collectively recognize in the mission we seek to advance. We at Beloit are privileged to have a community so willing to invest in the future of our great institution, and our students. For this, we are grateful,” said Mark Wold’95, Senior Director of Alumni & Parent Relations and Annual Support.

Thank you to all who supported Beloit College’s second annual Giving Day. As College President Scott Bierman often says, it’s “turtles all the way down.”

Get a room: information for fall 2013 student housing

You must participate in the room lottery to obtain a room for next semester; to this end, you should have received a lottery booklet in your campus mailbox. Below are some of the details and important times/dates/locations regarding this process.

Important dates:


(8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Residential Life Office)

  • Class of 2014: Monday, April 8 
  • Class of 2015: Tuesday, April 9
  • Class of 2016: Wednesday, April 10


MONDAY, April 15, 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. No squatting allowed after 3 p.m.

ROOM DRAW dates:

  • Class of 2014: Monday, April 15:  #’s 1 – 250 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in DK’s Main Dining
  • Class of 2015: Tuesday, April 16 : #’s 251 – 430 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in DK’s Main Dining; #’s 431 – 550 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in DK’s Main Dining
  • Class of 2016: Thursday, April  #’s 551 – 725  3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in DK’s Main Dining; #’s 726 – 850  4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in DK’s Main Dining

Other tips:

  • Be prepared to pick your meal plan at room draw (information in lottery booklet)
  • If you are class of 2014, ’15, or ’16, and will not be needing fall 2013 housing for any reason please  email to let Res Life know about your plans.
  • If you are class of 2013 and do need campus housing, please participate in room lottery with the class of 2014.
  • Summer 2013 housing forms are now available in the Res Life office (Pearsons Hall, second floor)
