It’s a tradition shared by Kappa Deltas around the country, and here in Beloit, members of the local chapter of the sorority are working hard to make their ShamROCK event a Beloit mainstay as well.
“All Kappa Deltas across the U.S. do it—we’re trying to make this a Beloit tradition,” says KD member Anne Bardo.
Each year, KD hosts ShamROCK in order to raise money for charitable causes—this year, the recipients of proceeds from the event will be Prevent Child Abuse Wisconsin and Prevent Child Abuse America. The event will take place Friday (March 22) at 8 p.m. in Wilson Theatre.
For a $2 admission, Beloiters will be treated to a karaoke competition (Roc Ordman and Michael Krantz-Perlman are among the recognizable names that have already committed to sing, organizers told the Terrarium) hosted by John Kaufmann and a silent auction of food, crafts, and coupons for home-cooked meals.
There’s still a limited time to sign up to sing; if you’re interested, email Lora Rowan at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. Check back later this week for a video preview of the event.
