Second Annual Giving Day a Great Success

The Beloit College community is generous and showed its heart and soul during its second annual Giving Day on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. In just 24 hours, the college raised over $65,000 from more than 450 supporters.

Not only did the gifts far surpass the original goal of $25,000, the event also raised $25,000 more than last year. Beloit is touched by the fantastic response received from supporters and is grateful to be backed by such a strong foundation of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends. These gifts help make ‪#‎BeloitPossible for the next generation of Turtles, Bucs, and Beloiters.

The unconditional support, enthusiastically offered by our alumni, parents, and friends is a tribute to the character of our community, and the value that we all collectively recognize in the mission we seek to advance. We at Beloit are privileged to have a community so willing to invest in the future of our great institution, and our students. For this, we are grateful,” said Mark Wold’95, Senior Director of Alumni & Parent Relations and Annual Support.

Thank you to all who supported Beloit College’s second annual Giving Day. As College President Scott Bierman often says, it’s “turtles all the way down.”

What’s up at C-Haus this week? Guest hosts for trivia; St. Patrick’s Day

March 12, 2013 at 7:04 pm

From C-Haus Manager Steve Olivieri:

Wednesday (March 13)
Come on out for familiar four-round trivia with guest host interweb sensations @sashadm and @mpross7 at 10 p.m. If you’re lucky, they’ll be here in the flesh. If you’re not, they’ll post the questions on their twitter accounts. You’ll probably get lucky.

Thursday (March 14)
St. Louis’ Britches bring their experimental art rock to C-Haus, pulling from influences like horrible religious experiences, subpar sexual experiences, and excellent dental experiences. They represent a diverse set of interests ranging from arguing to shaking hands to continuing education pottery classes. Campus collectives Shortleash and Brain Mold will open with soul-siphoning sets, all starting at 10 p.m.

Friday (March 15)

Dick Talk is starting up at 9 p.m. in the inviting hearth of C-Haus. Grab some pine (or whatever the bar is made from), and get ready for tales of masturbation, homosexuality, transsexuality, masculinity, their "first time," erectile dysfunction, relationships, sexual exploration, STDs, and more. Beloit students, past and present, write all of the stories – funny and serious, full of laughs and reflection.

Saturday (March 16)
Trauma Harness brings their gloomy post-punk vibes to C-Haus for our St. Patty’s Day Celebration, starting at 10 p.m. We’re stocking up on Guinness – come grab a can for $2 add space and ring in the Irish spirit at midnight.
