Social identities in specific contests: digital stories screen today

December 3, 2012

A selection of digital stories created by first-year students will screen at two times today, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in Wilson Theatre of Oscar Mayer Hall.

This is the second annual screening of digital stories by first-year students, who use discussions about social identity formed during New Student Days as a base for creating the multimedia productions. A panel of judges selected the winners from among 20 entries submitted in November. Students were tasked with telling “a story that illuminates how social identities shape the ways in which we understand the world and our place within it.”

The top prize is a $400 gift certificate to Turtle Creek Bookstore.
