Alumna and 2017 Ferrall-Artist-In-Residence Amanda Browder’98 will be hosting community sewing days this month in preparation for an installation in the Powerhouse. Browder, a textile artist specializing in fabric installations, seeks community collaboration with her art, bringing together members of the community for sewing days in the construction of the sculptures, which are created completely from donated fabric. She wants to call attention to places people often pass by without notice and have them really look at their surroundings.
