Have you been considering going abroad? Not sure if you want to take the leap that far? Stop by the Off-Campus Studies fair on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the atrium of the Science Center to hear about the wide variety of options open to you. For students considering applying to study abroad within the upcoming year, the next application deadline is Nov. 1 followed by another chance on Feb. 1.
The Off-Campus Studies fair will feature more than 20 information tables with students who have participated in the programs and visiting reps for individual programs. International programs range from a semester directly enrolled in a foreign university to time spent studying specific subjects at specialized institutions abroad. In terms of domestic programs, the Associated Colleges of the Midwest will have a table to discuss their exchange options in the Midwest, as well as representatives from the Washington semester program and the Sea Semester, an environmental studies based program in Woods Hole, Mass.
Beloit’s commitment to the importance of study abroad draws a large percentage of campus community to take a semester of adventure into their college career. With affordable options that can make a semester abroad financially equal to a semester on campus, the Office of International Education continues to help match students with the program that is right for their college experience.
