Archivists and student staff are gearing up for a larger than normal summer project. Between Reunion and the start of term, additional compact shelving will be added to the existing Archives storage vault. The long-anticipated storage upgrade will increase available storage by 25 percent, streamline collection management, facilitate collections access, and mitigate risks to collection items.
Considerable care is invested in planning for construction around the College’s unique, historical collections. To ensure the safety and sustainability of the resources, collections in storage will be sealed for protection during construction. Access for staff and researchers will be very limited during the work and moving periods. While unable to provide drop-in service, staff will continue to respond to requests submitted via phone and email. Requests may take longer than normal to fulfill. We appreciate your patience.
Preparation is already underway. You can help make this project a success by thinking and planning with us.
