Now in its eighth year, the annual Edge of the Rock Plein Air is a series of painting events taking place along the shores of the Rock River and in the historic neighborhoods and college campus of Beloit. What better way to render the area’s beauty than committing it to canvas?
As part of the wider Plein Air event, the Friends of Riverfront is hosting an open-air painting workshop conducted by award-winning painter Ken DeWaard Friday (June 6) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rotary River Center, located just south of the Turtle Island playground in Riverside Park, just off of Riverside Drive.
Workshop registration is $50 per person (workshop is valued at $175); click here to download a registration form for this workshop and other Plein Air events.
Plein Air will conclude at public sale Friday, June 13, at Hendricks Center for the Arts, 409 Pleasant St. Sale continues Saturday, and $4,500 in prizes will be awarded.
