Transgender performance artist Rebecca Kling grew up wearing boy’s clothing, with a short buzz cut. She also “wore swimming trunks to the pool or the beach, had a Bar Mitzvah, played on the boys' teams after school, changed in the boys' locker room, wore a suit and tie to important family occasions, and lived in the boys' section of the dorm at college. Looking through old photo albums, it's clear - boy, boy, boy.”
This afternoon (Tuesday) at 4 p.m. in the Java Joint, the artist and educator will will be giving a workshop and performance on her experiences as a transgender person. Want a preview? You can see video of her performance here.
