Sorority hosts speaker on child abuse prevention

As part of Kappa Delta Sorority's Shamrock philanthropy week, Jim Hmurovich, president and CEO of Prevent Child Abuse America will be speaking about "Why Prevention Matters," tonight.

The event will take place tonight (Tuesday) at 8 p.m. in Moore Lounge of Pearsons Hall.

Hmurovich will discuss a brief overview of Prevent Child Abuse America and its national chapter network. He will detail the experiences in his professional career that have led him to believe that "prevention really matters.” Hmurovich is a former deputy commissioner for the Indiana Department of Correction and was the Indiana State Welfare Director, during which time Indiana was recognized for successes in welfare reform and child welfare and received national recognition as a leader in the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.
