Second Annual Giving Day a Great Success

The Beloit College community is generous and showed its heart and soul during its second annual Giving Day on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. In just 24 hours, the college raised over $65,000 from more than 450 supporters.

Not only did the gifts far surpass the original goal of $25,000, the event also raised $25,000 more than last year. Beloit is touched by the fantastic response received from supporters and is grateful to be backed by such a strong foundation of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends. These gifts help make ‪#‎BeloitPossible for the next generation of Turtles, Bucs, and Beloiters.

The unconditional support, enthusiastically offered by our alumni, parents, and friends is a tribute to the character of our community, and the value that we all collectively recognize in the mission we seek to advance. We at Beloit are privileged to have a community so willing to invest in the future of our great institution, and our students. For this, we are grateful,” said Mark Wold’95, Senior Director of Alumni & Parent Relations and Annual Support.

Thank you to all who supported Beloit College’s second annual Giving Day. As College President Scott Bierman often says, it’s “turtles all the way down.”

Women’s lacrosse program names new coach

January 13, 2014 at 8:18 am

Beloit College Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Meredith Newman has tapped Maggie Zentgraf as the team's assistant coach. The move was announced last week.

Zentgraf comes to Beloit for the 2014 season from Western Albemarle High School in Crozet, Va., where she was part of a staff that was named the Regional Coaches of the Year, leading the team to a 14-0 regular season, as well as District and Regional Championships. She served as the team’s Defensive Coach.

A 2010 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Zentgraf worked the past year as a behavioral health specialist at The New Y-CAPP, Inc. in Charlottesville, Va., providing psychotherapeutic interventions combined with education support for middle and high school students.

Her coaching experience, in addition to Western Albemarle, include head coach for the Mid-Atlantic Virginia Team at the National Tournament in 2012 and 2013; CV Lax Club head coach in the summer and fall of 2011; and ACAC Lacrosse indoor coach in Charlottesville from November 2010 through December 2012.

A native of Charlottesville, Maggie played college lacrosse for the Fighting Irish, earning three NCAA tournament bids, one visit to the Sweet Sixteen, and a Big East Championship. She was a two-time Big East Academic All-Star and was named captain her senior year. She received the Christopher Zorich Award for community service her senior year for her contributions to the South Bend community.

The Buccaneers, who finished their inaugural season 4-7 overall, including 2-6 in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference, open their second season of play on Monday, March 3, when they host Wilmington College of Ohio at Strong Stadium, the first of 10 home contests during the 2014 season.  The opener faces off at 4:30 p.m.
