We all know he likes to run, but do you also know he hikes? President Scott Bierman will be giving a public presentation on “Hiking el Camino de Santiago” tomorrow (Thursday) Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. in Moore Lounge. The presentation will detail a hiking trip President Bierman and his daughter undertook in Spain several years ago along the famous trail, which in English means “The Way of St. James.” The trail is traditionally a route of pilgrimage to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela located in Galicia in northern Spain. Legend supports that the site of note is where the apostle Saint James is buried.
Associate Professor and Mouat Junior Professor of International Studies Pablo Toral said he would be attending the presentation “to learn more about the President’s spiritual journey, and more about the Rock Trail Coalition’s efforts to build the Peace Trail between Beloit and Janesville.”
The event, sponsored by the Rock Trail Coalition, is free and open to the public.
