Beta of Wisconsin (Phi Beta Kappa chapter of Beloit College) recently updated its selection criteria. The change is that a senior needs a GPA of at least 3.8 and a junior needs a GPA of at least 3.95 to qualify.
“We made this change to bring our chapter into line with national standards of typically electing no more than 10 percent of the graduating class with no more than 2 percent being juniors,” says Associate Professor of Computer Science Steve Huss-Lederman.
The Beloit chapter also has a new website, https://www.beloit.edu/phibetakappa/, which includes information on the chapter, Phi Beta Kappa, and the full selection criteria. Anyone with questions or thoughts is welcome to contact a chapter officer listed on the website.
