Thank you, the latest, and opportunities—notes from Development & Alumni Relations

August 19, 2013

From the Office of Development & Alumni Relations:

First, your friends in Development & Alumni Relations would like to say thank you. Thank you for your willingness to share your time—whether it be hosting a class or chatting with alumni at Reunion; sharing alumni updates with us; helping us to learn more about news in your area(s) so we can pass it on; or the myriad other ways you share your time and talent; thank you. Our ability to raise $3 million toward the Beloiter Fund in budget-relieving dollars last year could not have been done without you. And what has that $3 million done? See the stories of impact here.

The Beloiter Fund is just one of the modules in the Fast Forward campaigns that we have had the privilege of raising funds for. If you have your Beloit College Magazine handy, you’ll find the annual fundraising progress report that explains more about where we are at with the other five modules.

Now onto this fall—or, end of summer, really. We are excited to invite you to join us downtown for a Welcome to Our Town event in collaboration with Friends of Riverfront next Friday, when alumni, students, and the community (and hopefully you!) will gather together to celebrate Beloit students and welcome them to Beloit. There will be free Culver’s custard (while it lasts), music by Joel Patterson with guest Jim Liban, and a lighted boat parade.

Festivities begin at 6 p.m. at the Harry C. Moore Pavilion. Check it out. And, mark your calendars for Beloiter Days: Homecoming and Family & Friends Weekend on Sept. 20-22. We’re planning a great weekend of activities, tailgates, a parade, special reunions, and, of course, the Olde English Classic and cheering on our Bucs! Learn more about Beloiter Days: Homecoming and Family & Friends Weekend and plan to join in the fun!

Finally, you may have noticed a few role changes among your friends in Development & Alumni Relations. You can see the full breakdown as reported in the Terrarium in July here.

We look forward to yet another great year to be a Beloiter!
