Tread carefully: Temperature fluctuations make ice difficult to manage

February 19, 2013

Did you know: due to the rain Monday and dropping temperatures Monday night, salt is not as effective in melting ice and snow.  As the temperatures again fell last night, salt will continue to be an ineffective means for combating slippery sidewalks, despite the hard work the grounds crew is putting in in the wee hours of the morning.

In short: Please use care as you walk about campus. It’s icy out there.
