Winter break can be an ideal time to regain focus and tackle a few non-homework academic pursuits, like applying for scholarships and grants. Need some ideas? See below.
The Kemper Scholarship is open to first year students of all majors, and offers an opportunity to be placed in two internship programs with a generous stipend. Kemper scholars receive a scholarship of up to $10,000 per year for three school years, as well as valuable connections and leadership training.
Applications are due Feb. 1. Please contact the current scholars at firstname.lastname@example.org to request an application. For more information regarding the Kemper Foundation, please visit http://www.jskemper.org/scholars.html.
Summer Grants from Initiatives Program, Office of International Education, and Liberal Arts in Practice Center
The Office of International Education, the Liberal Arts in Practice Center, and the Initiatives Program are pleased to announce that they have joined together to create a single Grant Proposal Application Form for the student funding opportunities they offer. Students will complete a single application electronically, and faculty and staff will only have to submit a single on-line recommendation for students, no matter the number of opportunities they are applying for. The major goals of each of the funding opportunities largely remain the same and can be found on individual office or program web sites.
The applications (and recommendations) are due the Monday after spring break (March 11, 2013) to be considered for the following summer; applications are now available at http://www.beloit.edu/lapc/funding/beloitonly/commongrant/. Questions may be directed to email@example.com.
