Have you ever walked away from a situation in which you wished you had said something but instead chose to stay silent? Have you ever been in a situation where you felt oppressed by another person/group of people and didn't know how to handle it? Do you want to be a force of positive social change?
Consider coming to Theater for Social Action's upcoming Rehearsal for Action! The show will take place Saturday (Dec. 1) at 7 p.m., in the Java Joint.
Theater for Social Action is an unofficial theatre troupe on campus that uses techniques from Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed to prompt discussion and solutions to social issues in our community. The theatre is interactive in nature, allowing participants in the forum to rehearse solutions that could be used in “real life.”
If audience members don't want to jump in, though, “We totally respect that! Just be present!” organizers say.
