Name: Ricky Cotter’13
Majors: Mathematics and physics double major.
You may have seen me: On TKE's porch, in the Science Center drumming up some math theorems, in the pool doing some sweet flips, or eating my weight in food at Commons.
So, what is your major and what has been your favorite class that you've taken so far? My favorite class so far has been my electronics lab, but my most informative class has definitely been my real analysis class. It's the first time I felt like I knew something was 100 percent true without a doubt. It was also one of my hardest classes.
What are a few of your favorite things? Sleeping, eating, laughing, corgis, and winning. I love crafty inside jokes—the more obscure the better. If you can slow-play a joke for a week you're gonna be a good friend of mine.
What’s on your desert island jukebox? If I had to listen to only three albums the rest of my life it'd be: “Food and Liquor,” by Lupe Fiasco; “Section.80,” by Kendrick Lamar; and “The Heist,” by Macklemore. The first two albums are amazing, and the last one just has some feel-good tracks to it while still being fun and having a good meaning.
Favorite meal? Chicken Strips, or tuna fish with mustard and provolone with spinach. Actually just chicken strips!
Any advice? Have fun. Don't take things too seriously.
What do you do in your free time? I spend most of my time gardening, swimming, diving, cooking, or exercising. I don't know what free time is anymore.
If you could be reincarnated, what person/thing would you like to be? Sea otter. That or a chimpanzee. You know how strong a chimp is?!
Who are your top-three fantasy dinner party guests? Lupe Fiasco, Bill Murray, and Neil Patrick Harris.
Which talent would you most like to have? If I could have any talent, I'd go with gills. I'd love to be able to breath underwater. I'd be setting records for days.
Beatles or Stones? Lupe Fiasco.
What’s your favorite hidden gem here in the area? TACO LOCO. The best tacos I've ever had.
If you were auditioning for American Idol, what song would you sing? “Superstar” by Lupe Fiasco.
What are you most looking forward to? Seeing what else life has to hold for me. It'll be interesting to be in the real world and meet a bunch of new people. I want to get out of the Midwest. International waters and Colorado are my destinations in the near future.
