Meet Naomi T. Bullock, embracing the unknown

October 11, 2012

Naomi Bullock '14

Name: Naomi T. Bullock’14

Occupation: Seasoned D.K.’s employee.

Hometown: New York City.

You may have seen me: In a floor-length, cheetah-print, faux-fur coat somewhere on campus.

What has been your favorite course at Beloit? I want to become a filmmaker in the future and creative writing has always been my passion. The freedom and flexibility to put yourself in so many different head spaces in order to create characters, or feel settings, or bring to life every sense for a stranger reading your work is what I love the most. It’s a limitless craft and is really one of those things that, when nurtured, just gets better with time and is never in short demand. I’m currently taking Intro to Creative Writing with Chris Fink and the class is only in the first couple weeks but I can already feel myself exploring new territories and it’s fantastic.

What’s on your desert island jukebox? ’90s boy-band pop.

Any advice? When in doubt, re-frame your possibilities because in the end it will be alright, and if it’s not alright, it’s not the end.

If you could be reincarnated, what person/thing would you like to be? A mirror in a public bathroom.

Who are your top-three fantasy dinner party guests? Joseph, Gordon, and Levitt.

Which talent would you most like to have? The ability to understand all languages, but I guess that would be a superpower sort of thing.

Beatles or Stones? I’m a Blue Meanies kind of girl.

What’s the number one thing on your bucket list? To sky-dive with a jar and capture a cloud because I promised my 5-year-old self that I would.

What are you most looking forward to? The unknown.
