Second Annual Giving Day a Great Success

The Beloit College community is generous and showed its heart and soul during its second annual Giving Day on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. In just 24 hours, the college raised over $65,000 from more than 450 supporters.

Not only did the gifts far surpass the original goal of $25,000, the event also raised $25,000 more than last year. Beloit is touched by the fantastic response received from supporters and is grateful to be backed by such a strong foundation of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends. These gifts help make ‪#‎BeloitPossible for the next generation of Turtles, Bucs, and Beloiters.

The unconditional support, enthusiastically offered by our alumni, parents, and friends is a tribute to the character of our community, and the value that we all collectively recognize in the mission we seek to advance. We at Beloit are privileged to have a community so willing to invest in the future of our great institution, and our students. The mission of the Office of Development and Alumni Relations is to inform external constituents of the college’s mission and goals; to involve them as volunteers in fulfilling the mission; and to inspire them to invest their resources in support of current objectives and future goals. 

The Office of Alumni and Parent Relations and Annual Support is charged with the unprecedented growth of the Beloiter Fund over the next five years, with an overarching goal of raising $5 million annually by 2015. The office is also directly responsible for initiatives that foster mutually supportive relationships between Beloit College and its alumni, parents, and friends.

The assistant director of alumni and parent relations and annual support is responsible for the identification, qualification, cultivation, and solicitation of donors and volunteers. The individual in this position is a key team member who supports the work of both the alumni and parent relations and the annual support programs. This position will be responsible for planning and executing alumni and parent events, in particular reunion and the reunion giving program; for the creation and implementation of a faculty and staff giving campaign; for engaging associate class agents; and for ensuring appropriate stewardship for all who give their time, talent, and treasure to the college.

Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of two to three years of professional experience. A successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to track and prioritize multiple projects, and an appreciation for liberal arts education. Travel, evening, and weekend work required.
