The college recently upgraded Symantec Endpoint Protection to the newest version, which performs better and uses fewe rresources.
IT is in the process of upgrading all of the college-owned computers in the classrooms and public labs to assure they are runningup-to-date software before the start of the fall semester.
For those of you with Windows systems, Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager will automatically upgrade most of your computers once the program is initiated by IT during the week of Aug. 6.
Once the upgrade is done, the program will prompt you to restart your computer. After restarting your computer you will need to register your antivirus program with the Symantec Endpoint Protection manager(IT will never ask for your password). This registration facilitatescommunication with you in case of virus/malware issues.
Unfortunately, the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager is unable to upgrade the Macintosh computers automatically. The upgrade needs to be performed from each computer.
