Second Annual Giving Day a Great Success

The Beloit College community is generous and showed its heart and soul during its second annual Giving Day on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. In just 24 hours, the college raised over $65,000 from more than 450 supporters.

Not only did the gifts far surpass the original goal of $25,000, the event also raised $25,000 more than last year. Beloit is touched by the fantastic response received from supporters and is grateful to be backed by such a strong foundation of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends. These gifts help make ‪#‎BeloitPossible for the next generation of Turtles, Bucs, and Beloiters.

The unconditional support, enthusiastically offered by our alumni, parents, and friends is a tribute to the character of our community, and the value that we all collectively recognize in the mission we seek to advance. We at Beloit are privileged to have a community so willing to invest in the future of our great institution, and our students. For this, we are grateful,” said Mark Wold’95, Senior Director of Alumni & Parent Relations and Annual Support.

Thank you to all who supported Beloit College’s second annual Giving Day. As College President Scott Bierman often says, it’s “turtles all the way down.”

Register now for week of competition, wellness with Choices

April 11, 2012 at 10:52 pm

Want to win money for your club, get free T-shirts (Turtle Trot!) and learn more about healthy food and fitness—a look at the many facets of wellness?

Everyone (faculty, staff, and students) is invited to take part in myChoices: A Health & Wellness Exploration, April 23-29. Sessions include everything from aqua zumba to discussions about art therapy, learning the basics of lacrosse, and sports trivia, all culminating in a field day on April 29.

For clubs who can field a team of five people, there are three ways to win:

1.     Win the week:  The top three teams of 5 players who accumulates enough stamps on stamp cards each member receives (stamps are awarded for each activity attended) will win prizes of $75 (third place), $150 (second place), and $225 (first place). The good news is this money can be rolled over into next year's budget!

2.     Win Field Day: The winners of Field Day will win Finals Survival Kits for each team member.

3.     Everyone's a winner!: Free t-shirts will be available on a first come, first served basis for the Turtle Trot; every Field Day participant will receive a free shirt and food will be served (sandwiches, snacks, drinks) after the Field Day is complete.

Teams who want to compete for cash prizes need to register here; to see a full schedule of the week’s events, click here. (Note: all events scheduled to begin at 12:20 p.m. will now be changed to 12:30 p.m.)

Deadline for team registrations is Friday, April 20—individuals do not need to register to participate.

CHOICES Beloit is a three-year program that focuses on collaboration among students, faculty, and staff to cultivate a healthy campus community, funded by a grant. While alcohol education will be the foundation upon which all of our programming is built, wellness is and will remain a constant theme of our educational efforts.
