What's up at the C-Haus this week: mini-festival Wednesday night; hip-hop after party Friday

April 4, 2012 at 6:35 am

From C-Haus Manager Steve Bernini:

Wednesday (April 4) The One Campaign Presents a mini festival
The One Campaign is a grassroots advocacy and campaigning organization that fights extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa, by raising public awareness and pressuring political leaders to support smart and effective policies and programs that are saving lives, helping to put kids in school and improving futures. To raise awareness and money we have the finest campus bands Beloit has to offer, starting at 10 p.m.:  Jon Stone, Mr. Alec Baldwin, and the Turtle Creek Tumblweeds.

Thursday (April 5) The Bright Light Social Hour
Paste Magazine called them "the best of what's next;”  The Austin Chronicle called them "a prophet of the future, calling the newly baptized to the altar of rock, and the old faithful back into the fold,”  but you can call them one of the best bands you will ever see live! They hit the stage around 11 p.m. this
Thursday so don't be late. Check them out at

Friday (April 6) Tribe and Big Cats
The show may be over at midnight in Pearsons, but it's only getting started in C-Haus. We've got the amazing hip-hop group Tribe and Big Cats in from Chicago to keep your night going, taking the stage at 12 a.m.  And of course, a party night isn't complete without drink specials, so come by early for the best deals.

Saturday (April 7) DJ, campus band The Nocturnes
We're starting the night at 10 p,m. with the campus synth and electronic band The Nocturnes. They are going to get you going with their electronica and indie rock sounds, then we may have a DJ, a couple of bands, maybe an opera singer. Heck, we have no idea what's happening yet, so swing by and let’s get something going.
