MEET Julia Helmeid’15, who looks forward to that “college epiphany”

March 28, 2012

Julia Helmeid'15

Name: Julia Helmeid’15

Major: Undeclared.

Hometown: Shoreline, Wash.

You may have seen me: In The Exonerated/Pretty Theft/ The Last Days of Judas Iscariot; in the library every morning finishing homework that's due in an hour.

What are a few of your favorite things? French pastries; the sauna in the women's locker room; mixed CDs from friends; reading a script out loud with the cast for the first time; musical theatre; sleepovers on school nights; The Bachelor (no shame); my sister.

What gets you up in the morning? The promise of sludgy, sulfuric Commons coffee.

Favorite meal: I'm always down for a long, leisurely brunch. Ideally with warm scones, eggs cooked to perfection, copious amounts of fresh fruit, bottomless coffee, and great conversation.

What are you most looking forward to? Having that "college epiphany" I've heard so much about—the one where you suddenly realize what you want to do with your life. If that doesn't work out then I'll follow through with my plans to live the rest of my life in a remote cabin in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains with an extensive garden and a dairy cow.
